Every day it is easy to be overwhelmed by the events that happen to us. And when we have so many things to do and we are under stress, it is very difficult to maintain a clear mind and be in control of ourselves, our emotions and reactions.
Mental and physical stress cause increased levels of Cortisol, also known as the stress hormone. When these hormone levels are constantly high they can produce harmful effects in ourselves, as well as disrupt sleep, promote depression and anxiety, increase blood pressure and contribute to fatigue and cloudy thinking.
Different studies showed that meditation generates remarkable benefits for people who suffer from anxiety and stress, as well as people who suffer from physical issues and insomnia.
How is it possible?
Because, once we find the right time to stop, take some deep breaths and focus on ourselves, on the “present moment“, we become aware of our body, our feelings, and thoughts.
When we are able to reach a deep state of peace and self-awareness, the external world vanishes, as well as problems and worries, and we are only connected to our true nature and essence. And when we manage to connect with our deepest self, we are able to observe and assess our lives in a different way, to receive intuitions, replace negative thoughts with more positive one, and find better solutions. That’s why meditations are really powerful and effective for our wellbeing inside and out, even if we meditate for only 15mins every day.
